Papercraft Thunderhawk

A few days ago I started work on a scratch built Thunderhawk gunship using Eli Patoroch's templates. The level of detail in these templates is truly remarkable, and I encourage anyone interested in scratch building to try them out. His templates can be downloaded here. So far I have only put together the interior of the front section and painted it, but I will update this thread regularly with progress, so stay tuned.
Heres a couple of pictures:

Storm Wardens Army Project

The guys over at http://santacruzwarhammer.blogspot.com are holding a charity army build. They are building an army of the space marine chapter "Storm Wardens", along with the help of many other bloggers and the designers of the new 40k RPG, Death Watch RPG, who are helping with getting the army looking just right. This army will then be given away to one very lucky winner. To enter, just go to their blog, and donate anywhere from $1 to $250. The more you donate, the higher chance of winning. This money goes towards the Doctors without borders charity, so its all  for a good cause. Check the project out on their blog, and the details here:http://santacruzwarhammer.blogspot.com/2010/06/storm-wardens-army-charity-raffle.html

Ogre Robot

Last night i was going through my massive ogre kingdoms bitz box. All the bitz in it are from the battle force, which has basiccaly as much spareparts as it does models. I decided to make something out the random arms, weapons, barrelsand sheilds and came up with this. (click to see bigger image)

The body is made of two barrels glued together, the arms, legs and neck are made of the poles that the Ogres use to carry their banners, the head is made of half a barrel and a chest plate stuck together. The two bladed sword is basically just a normal sword, with another blade stuck to the other end of the handle. The eyes are just bits of sprue that i trimmed to shape, and the rest is quite obvious. I greens stuffed in a couple of places to add strength, and smoothen up some of the joins. It only took about 30 minutes, so anyone who ever bought an Ogre battle force should have no trouble making some sort of medieval robot. I will post a step by step tutorial on how it was painted once i finish.

Another Paperhammer post

I recently made a scale Space marine drop-pod. Its nearly exactly the same size as the GW drop-pod, but it's free and relatively easy to make. HERE is page 1 of the templates, and HERE is page two. Print page 1 of 5 times, and page two of once. The templates are very easy to follow, but if you have any questions about them, email me at jchandler1995@gmail.com. On the right is a pic of some of the parts put together, and on the right is the nearly finished drop-pod, ATM it's missing the top tubine, but ill attach that soon.

Paperhammer 40k

At the moment I'm working on giant, titan sized dreadnought made from printout templates I found somewere on the internet. I've found making Warhammer vehicles out of thin card a very fun, cheap and rewarding way of adding to your army. So far, I've only made the two arms for the dreadnought, and im about to start on the body. If you want to build some of your own vehicles, i advise checking out "bwc archive" on yahoo. THIS thread also has some good links to a couple of template. On the left is the close combat weapon with unattached flamer, and on the right is the unfinished Auto-cannon

Troll of Isenguard

I recently got this Isenguard troll at Games-Workshop for only 22 bucks. My local games-workshop is moving stores, so they had to clean out all there old models in an auction. This model isn't in production anymore, so i just wanted toshow what the old isenguard troll used to look like for all those new to the hobby.

The metal was painted in the normal way you would paint metal, and had around 11 washes applied to it to get the battered look. I was testing out the new GW washes on him and found them surprisingly good.
